My comeback post. With a slight change of direction.

Hey guys.
I know over the past year my blog has been fairly neglected. But this is going to change - I PROMISE!

Over the next few weeks, you're going to be seeing a change of direction in my blog. Over the past year, I have grown up and changed alot, and almost settled into my niche in the fashion world.
From previous posts, you can see that I was really passionate about writing about big designers, new trends and catwalks must haves.. so imagine my surprise when I found something I love even more!
I have realised that all the big names, the Christian Dior, Vivienne Westwood, Karen Millen, Tom Ford, Christian Louboutin, well they all had to start somewhere, right? And they only made it this big now because of the support they had when they were up and coming.
So for the next few posts, I want to dedicate it too brands and designers who I think will be creating the next must have's. Please note however, that ALL of them are independent and most are somewhat 'hipster' and 'alternative' but a little bit of experimentation never hurt anyone.
So jump on board, and support the next generation.

First up, Hype.

Right, this brand, to me, is the kick-starting of a new fashion movement. If you check out their website http://store.justhype.co.uk/ you will see what I mean. All their designs are unique, many are bold, different and utterly awesome! Considering the company starting from two guys in a back room and now, they are collaborating with other up and coming brands, just shows how business smart these guys are.. and how cool they're styling is.
Many of the t-shirts are unisex, which as a female, is a bonus. A lot of the time, being a university student and everything, I want something comfy, non-restrictive but still on trend and eye catching - Hype. gives all of that and more at amazing prices.
This brand moves away from the standard designs and prints of Topshop/Man, River Island, H&M and all the other high-street brands that you see next to every person wearing, and gives customers something rare (considering they only stock around 50 of each t-shirt and once they're gone, they're gone!) and something that will make their friends envious.
Within the last few weeks, I cannot stop looking at the their website in excitement and anticipation for the Autumn collection! The faster, the better!

Jump on the Hype. followers and let you're individuality run free!

My Comeback Post..

So I havent blogged in 4 months now and I think that probably makes me the worst blog ever. But today, Im sat at home feeling sorry for myself for various reasons when I picked up last months edition of Vogue (I loved the editorials so much that I sometimes reread it) and I came across one article, one designer that I just had to write about.

Two words.

JW Anderson.
"After convincing us with his cool menswear line, 27-year-old Anderson followed it up with punked-up womenswear last year. His spring collection is "like a psychedelic road trip", featuring dip-dyed knits, denim smocks and Peruvian plisse skirts... In his new role as creative director of underwear label Sunspel, Anderson has created the perfect basics for a grungy adventurer, with androgynous T-shirts gauzy vests and polo dresses.." - Vogue Britain April 2011.

Okay, so I know there are only two images but my editing thing was being annoying and taking long to adjust the size but you get the jist of this guys style. Cool right?! I love the way the rocky patterns meet the feminine colours and create a complete contrast, allowing women to show both sides of their personality. The use of varying lengths and styles really accentuates Anderson's ability to cater for anybody.

Nice one!

Marc Jacobs: Fall 2010 Collection

Ok. So, as a person who spends far to much time fashion blogging, fashion looking, looking at editorials and everything else to do with fashion, when I came across this collection - I was a little taken back to say the least. To me, Marc Jacobs is eccentric, fabulous and all the other words that normally describe catwalk fashion - but this collection is some what different - its alot tamer. Nonetheless, the settings may contradict this, but the actual designs are simple, dark and somewhat gothic. I do however adore the Victorian feel that the shoot gives.

Nicely done Jacobs. You've won me over.
Now, just to become a billionaire and buy lots :) Hmmmm. Dreamer.

A2 TEXTILES. YAYYY.

Ok. So, I am so unbelievably sorry about not blogging for like EVER. I have been soo incredibly busy. Not only with college, like usual, but also with the whole university dilemma and what to do and stuff. Anyway.
Enough about stuff that you dont really care about.

FASHION YAY.

For my Textiles A2 course, my theme is patrotism and Im having so much fun exploring artists, designers and photographers that show their passion and love for their country through their work. Its inspiring. My aim is too capture their unique and individual techniques and aspects that make them so original and put this into practise.
Ill show you some of the work I do when Ive done it to be honest. Haaa.
Anyway.
Check out some of the photos that have kick started my inspiration.
